New Delhi, 01 October 2025 – The Ministry of Labour and Employment has embarked on a transformative, month-long initiative, Special Campaign 5.0, setting forth a comprehensive agenda to enhance administrative efficiency, foster a citizen-centric approach, and improve the overall workplace environment across its establishments.
The campaign, which commenced with a successful preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2025, is now in its implementation phase, running until October 31st. It targets a systemic clean-up, both in terms of administrative pendency and physical workspace.
A Two-Pronged Attack on Inefficiency
Special Campaign 5.0 is built on two key pillars:
- Streamlining Governance and Reducing Pendency: The Ministry has set ambitious targets to resolve long-pending matters, including MP and PMO references, inter-ministerial communications, and public grievances. A critical component of this effort is a comprehensive review of existing rules and regulations to reduce unnecessary compliance burdens, making them more effective and citizen-friendly.
- Enhancing Cleanliness and Space Management: The campaign places a strong emphasis on creating an organized and efficient work environment. This involves extensive space management, reducing clutter in offices, and a dedicated drive for the scientific disposal of e-waste, ensuring compliance with environmental norms.
Ambitious Targets, Tangible Results
The preparatory phase has set the stage for significant, measurable outcomes. Key targets for the campaign include:
- Record Management: Reviewing over 2 lakh physical files for better record management.
- Infrastructure Cleanliness: Cleaning more than 1,700 sites nationwide, freeing up over 1 lakh square feet of usable space.
- Revenue from Scrap: Generating an estimated ₹30 lakh in revenue through the disposal of scrap and redundant materials, contributing to government funds while decluttering premises.
A Forward-Looking Mission
As the campaign moves into its implementation phase, all officers and officials have been called upon to contribute with full dedication. The successful execution of Special Campaign 5.0 is expected to deliver tangible benefits, including reduced backlogs, streamlined processes, and improved working conditions.
This initiative underscores the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to responsive governance. By tackling inefficiency at its roots and fostering a culture of cleanliness and order, the Ministry of Labour and Employment is poised to significantly enhance its service delivery, ultimately benefiting the citizens it serves.
