New Delhi, [Date of Event] – The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security (PDUNASS) today paid a solemn tribute to its namesake, observing the 109th birth anniversary of the revered thinker and leader with a ceremony marked by reverence and intellectual reflection.

The event, held at the PDUNASS campus in Janakpuri, brought together officers, staff, faculty, and a batch of newly inducted Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFCs) currently undergoing orientation training.

The proceedings commenced with Shri Kumar Rohit, Director of PDUNASS and Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Headquarters), leading the assembly in paying floral tributes before the statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
In his opening address, Shri Rohit underscored the profound and enduring influence of Pandit Upadhyaya’s philosophy on India’s socio-political landscape. He emphasized the critical relevance of these ideals in shaping modern welfare policies and guiding the administration of social security in the country.
The tribute was followed by an insightful and participatory discussion led by Shri Ankit Chanyal, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner–II. Shri Chanyal delved into the core of Upadhyaya’s philosophy, providing a comprehensive overview of Integral Humanism.
He articulated its continuing significance for public administration, particularly in the spheres of social security, ethical governance, and inclusive development. Shri Chanyal elaborated that Integral Humanism advocates for a governance model which places the individual at the heart of all policy decisions—not merely as an economic entity, but as a complete being with spiritual, cultural, and emotional dimensions.
Key tenets such as decentralisation of power, the imperative of ethical leadership, and the promotion of community-based development were highlighted as vital components for delivering responsive and compassionate governance to the citizens.
The event served as a poignant reminder of the philosophical foundations underpinning the work of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, reinforcing its commitment to a people-centric and holistic approach to social security.
