Prime Minister takes part in cleanliness drive

On: 01 OCT 2023 – Today as nation is observing cleanliness drive on the clarion call by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Everyone has dedicated one hour towards cleanliness which will help to build bright future for the country.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi also took part in this cleanliness drive along with Ankit Baiyanpuria. Ankit is a fitness influencer. 

Prime Minister shared a video on his X post in which he can be seen talking about the importance of cleanliness and fitness in our daily life. PM also talked about his daily life routine and asked about Ankit’s fitness funda.

In a X post, the Prime Minister said;

“Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being also into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe! @baiyanpuria”

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan turning it into a Jan Andolan

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Labour and Employment  Shri Bhupender Yadav lead the cleanliness drive under the Swachchta Hi Seva campaign of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change at National Zoological Park (NZP), New Delhi.

Smt.Leena Nandan,Secretary MoEF&CC , Sh. C.P. Goyal, DGF&SS, MoEF&CC, Sh. Bivash Ranjan, ADG (WL), MoEF&CC,Shri Sanjay Shukla Member Secretary Central zoo authority and Joint Secretary Shri Satyajit Mishra were present on the occasion . Over 200 participants, including enthusiastic students,visitors gathered to contribute to this significant endeavor.

The highlight of the day was participation of youth in the Swachhata campaign and cleaning initiatives of zoo for water body cleaning. The activity was followed by the inauguration of a PET bottle collection point, a pivotal step towards making zoo a Single-Use Plastic (SUP) free zone. This initiative underscores NZP’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and minimizing its ecological footprint.

In a heartwarming gesture, Shri Bhupender Yadav distributed eco-friendly reusable bags to students, emphasizing the importance of sustainable living and environmental consciousness.

Following the distribution of bags, an animal journal was unveiled to promote Lifestyle for Environment and cleanliness in zoo fostering an educational connection with the diverse wildlife at NZP.

The Shramdaan activity at NZP, under the Swachchta Hi Seva campaign, demonstrates that when communities come together with a shared vision, meaningful change can be achieved. NZP remains steadfast in its commitment to wildlife conservation and environmental protection.

‘SHRAMDAAN EVENT’ organised by the  MINISTRY OF MSME

Addressing to the national call of Hon’ble Prime Minister to action for ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath’, Ministry of MSME organized ‘Shramdaan’, on the theme of “GARBAGE FREE INDIA” at Development Facilitation Office, Okhla, Phase-1, New Delhi,  on Sunday, the 1st October 2023. It was a concerted effort to create a cleaner India. The Ministry of MSME along with its organization and field offices across the country participated to make this mega Swachhata drive, a success.

Banners/Posters to create awareness regarding on-going Swachhata Hi Seva(SHS) campaign, including this ‘Shramdaan’, were placed at various prominent and high footfall areas.  Region-wise Nodal Officers were also assigned responsibility of coordinating with sanitation, horticulture and other civil departments, of the state government for carrying out sanitation drive at identified areas, sweeping of roads/colony parks/ public  areas. Activities like plantation drives, cleanliness drives and sanitation drives were undertaken during this one hour ‘Shramdaan ’ by all MSME officers.

Secretary(MSME) led this ‘Shramdaan’  with more than 200 Officers/staff participating in Swachhata Drive. Citizens from local communities and office bearers of Flatted Factory Complex, Okhla, also participated in event and approximately 25 thousand sq.ft. area was freed from garbage by cleaning nearby i.e. metro station, vegetables market etc. Secretary(MSME) administered ‘Swachhata Pledge’ to all officers present and urged participants to ensure that all of their neighborhood should be free from garbage so that Swachhata becomes a reality.

Power Ministry organizes Shramdaan as part of Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath, officers and staff of the Union Ministry of Power and various PSUs and organizations under the Ministry came together to perform Shramdaan, under the leadership of Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R. K. Singh.

Presiding over the proceedings, the Union Minister administered the Swachhata Hi Seva Pledge to all officials, at the event organised by Power Finance Corporation, at its New Delhi office today, October 1, 2023.

The Minister led the Shramdaan, as part of the mega cleanliness drive being undertaken across the nation, on the eve of the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

The Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister urged all citizens of the country to contribute towards the nationwide drive. “It is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute towards the vision of a cleaner India. All of us must commit ourselves to improve the quality of lives of citizens and make India a developed nation.”

The theme of Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 is Garbage Free India. Various cleanliness activities have been conducted by the power sector PSUs across villages and towns, schools, anganwadis and public places in the country.

Parminder Chopra; CMD, NTPC, Shri Gurdeep Singh; CMD, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Shri K. Sreekant; CMD, Grid India, Shri S.R. Narasimhan; and Chairperson, CEA, Shri Ghanshyam Prasad joined the Shramdaan event today, along with other officials of the Ministry of Power as well as those of various organizations under the Ministry.

‘Swachhata takes you closer to God’

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal led the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ movement from Dibrugarh, Assam today. On this occasion, the Union Minister thanked the people of Assam for their enthusiastic participation in this novel movement of cleanliness under the inspiring leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Shri Sonowal said, “As we join the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement and offer our ‘Shram’, it is heartening to witness how the people of Assam has responded to the call of our dynamic leader, honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, and making this movement a success with their enthusiastic participation. We must remember what Mahatma Gandhi jis message on cleanliness  and how it resonates through Jan Bhagidari for a Garbage Free India. Cleanliness brings us closer to the Godliness. We must remain steadfast towards this noble objective of a clean Bharat for achieving a Swastha Bharat, a vision of our leader Narendra Modiji.”

Swachhata has become our Swabhav

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan led a Swacchta Hi Seva – Shramdaan initiative at Patel Chest, Delhi. Students and teachers of the University of Delhi as well as citizens joined him in this cleanliness drive to pay Swacchanjali to Mahatma Gandhi. The Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath was organized throughout the nation as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, marking the 9th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The campaign was scheduled for 1st October 2023 at 10 am for a duration of one hour.

Shri Pradhan thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his resolve to develop a Swachha Bharat, which is free of garbage. The initiative has transformed into the world’s biggest people-led movement, Shri Pradhan emphasized.

He also added that with the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, swachhata has become our Swabhav. This jan-andolan is just a beginning and with this we renew our commitment to make our academic institutions garbage-free, he added. He also highlighted that this will be a true Swacchanjali to Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and all our greats.

He also mentioned that with collective effort, the picture of our villages, cities and nearby public places can be changed.
